English for software engineering teams
Help your engineers explain their thinking clearly in English.
I coach software engineers one-to-one on the conversations around their work: stand-ups, technical discussions and explanations for colleagues outside engineering. Each person practises what they need to say, with feedback on how they say it.
Online · One-to-one with me · Arranged around each employee’s needs

Technical knowledge needs to travel beyond the person who has it.
An engineer can understand a system deeply and still hesitate when explaining a trade-off or asking for clarification in English. I help them practise turning that understanding into an explanation colleagues can follow.
01
Stand-ups and project updates
Give a concise update, describe a blocker and explain what needs to happen next.
02
Design discussions
Compare approaches, explain a trade-off and respond to questions about a technical decision.
03
Stakeholder conversations
Adapt a technical explanation for product, commercial and customer-facing colleagues.
For HR managers and team leads
Give people a reason to keep learning.
When an employee can use a lesson in a meeting or a client call, it has a clear purpose. I aim to make that connection in every session, using relevant content and conversations that feel natural to the person learning.
- Goals connected to the work you want to support.
- Individual attention, so employees can ask questions and practise at their own pace.
- A consistent coach who gets to know each person’s role, interests and difficulties.
Some of my students have continued coaching with me long term. I aim to make sessions relevant to each employee’s work and goals.
A coach who follows the conversation
Start with what your employees know.
My experience in growth and product development at a FinTech helps me follow conversations about products, priorities and technical trade-offs. Your engineers bring the technical expertise; I help them practise explaining it in clear, natural English. We can work with fictional examples rather than proprietary code or documents.
“What I like most is that he understands marketing and the specific terms I need to grow in my professional career.”

How we begin
A shared goal. Individual coaching.
01
Discuss the team’s needs
Tell me which employees you have in mind, where English matters in their work and when you’d like to start. We discuss fit, availability and costs.
02
Set a focus with each employee
I listen to how each person speaks, discuss their goals and identify the situations and language that need attention.
03
Practise, get feedback, try again
I use relevant conversations and scenarios to work on clarity, vocabulary and delivery. We revisit difficult moments as the employee’s needs develop.
For software engineering teams collaborating in English, especially where technical discussions involve colleagues in other functions. This is spoken English coaching, not software engineering training.

Before you enquire
Questions from managers.
Is this for software engineers or every engineering discipline?
This page focuses on software engineering and product teams. If your employees work in another engineering discipline, tell me about their roles and communication needs so we can discuss whether I’m the right coach.
Is this coding or technical interview training?
No. I work on spoken English: structuring an explanation, pronunciation, useful vocabulary, listening and responding. Your employees supply the technical knowledge.
Are these group classes or individual sessions?
Individual sessions. You can arrange coaching for several employees, but I work one-to-one with each person on their own goals and English needs.
How do company pricing and scheduling work?
Tell me how many employees you have in mind, their time zones and your preferred start date. I’ll discuss availability, lesson frequency, costs and billing with you before you commit. Team arrangements are agreed through an enquiry.
What can HR or a team lead see about progress?
Before coaching begins, we can discuss the goals you want to support and what feedback would be useful. I’ll agree any progress updates with you and the participating employees. There is no employer reporting dashboard included.
Let’s talk about your team
Which conversations would you like your employees to handle more confidently?
Tell me about their roles, your goals and how many people you have in mind. I’ll reply to discuss whether the coaching is a fit.
